REVIEW: The One For Me by Corinne Michaels

ⓇⒶⓉⒾⓃⒼ

ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ • How Corinne does it, I'll never know but every Arrowood brother gets better and better even when you think that one peaked. Jacob has some humongous shoes to fill come December, that's all I'm saying.

The One For Me had everything you could possibly want and need in a friends-to-lovers books and I can honestly say it's one of my Top 2020 reads. Devney and Sean's connection was everything. Their bond was unshakable, starting with a 20 year friendship that gave them a strong foundation to build a future upon.

When they were younger, Sean and Devney were dreaming of one day leaving their small town and escaping into a bigger and better world. But, as we all know, life works in funny ways and while Sean's choices drove him away from Sugarloaf, PA for 10 years, Devney's forced her to come back for good. They both struggled with the consequences of their choices and the way their lives unfolded, Devney more so, but they always had each other, leaned on each other and had each other's back, not realising that somewhere within them were hiding stronger feelings.

So, when it's time for Sean to head back to Sugarloaf for his stint at the farm, it all comes to a head. Now they have to acknowledge their feelings and fight what they both want and deserve. But tragedy strikes, that both brings them together and drives them apart, leading them to make tough choices.

This story was so much more that I expected. I was honestly thinking it would be a lighthearted story full of ridiculous moments, which it had, but what I got was so much more! This book had a depth and heart that stubbed you right in the feels, a hero that you simply couldn't help but hardcore swoon over and root for and a heroine that was strong with a character development that made your eyes fill with tears and a visceral need to cheer her on and wish for her happily ever after.

I'll wrap this up, because The One For Me is NOT a book that you understand by reading a review. The One For Me is a book that you NEED TO EXPERIENCE page by page. You need to dive into its pages and soak up its funny, warm, bittersweet, heartfelt, heartbreaking and sexy moments. It's a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you needing so much more. I honestly can't wait for Jacob's story but at the same time I feel like I hadn't have enough time with the Arrowood brother.

Shoutout to the amazing little cameo that warmed my heart. You'll get it once you've read the book and you're a longtime fun of Corrine.
