ⓇⒺⓋⒾⒺⓌ • I was pleasantly surprised by Abbie Zanders since she was a new to me author and I didn't know what to really expect. Zanders writing was so refreshing to me, the rhythm of the words flowed on the page so effortlessly that it was almost poetic, after so many stilted examples from the books I've read in the last month. I started the book around midnight, thinking I'll read a couple of chapters, get a feel for the book and the story and go to bed. I couldn't be more wrong. I stayed up all night and finished this gem in one sitting.
Eva and Jace's story was so warm and heartfelt that it felt a contented feeling in me after the last page. There was drama and angst and demons to overcome but there were also fun, funny and sexy moments to balance out the drama. I loved the connection between the main characters and especially Jace's connection to Eva and how that shaped his life without her knowing. I loved Jace's dedication once he found Eva and even more I loved the fact that this wasn't another story about and entitled rock star manwhore who sees an attractive woman that says no to him and thus he has to make her his. His feelings and intentions towards Eva were more subtle and profound and that was amazing. I also loved Eva's character development. Her background was rich and through the curveballs life threw her she persevered, fought and made a life that she could be proud of in spite of past mistakes.
Rock Star Romeo was a very enjoyable read that will get its hooks in you from the very first chapter and won't let go until you reached the final page. It was one of the best additions to the Cocky Hero Club universe and I say that having read quite a few of the entries that have already come out.
on in what could be called chapter titles that Abbie Zanders gave in this books. It was freaking genius and warmed my heart with the connection to the Stuck-Up Suit from which Rock Star Romeo originated.
